Surviving Summer, the Made by Zen way

Summer is in full swing, and with it comes the heat, the rain, the bugs, and the general hustle and bustle of the season.
But don't worry, Made by Zen is here to help you stay cool, calm and collected all summer long.
Here are some of our top tips for surviving summer:
Stay hydrated.
Drinking plenty of water aids hydration and can help to improve your mood and energy levels. Add slices of fruit to your water for a refreshing and flavourful boost.
We add slices of fresh orange for a Vit C boost and a zingy scent hit.

Don’t forget to hydrate your skin as well.
We use the Eva face mister filled with cold water to help cool and hydrate our skin and hair. It even helps to set make up!
Spend time in nature.
Being in nature has been shown to reduce stress levels and boost your mood. If the monsoonal weather is keeping you indoors, bring the outdoors in with scents that evoke nature, such as our Forest Therapy or Ocean Therapy oils.

Go cordless.
Using portable, cordless scenting devices when you are on the go allows you to remain calm and stress-free. From long car journeys and caravan trips to congested public transport, scenting your space really does help.
Keep bugs at bay.
Light some Palo Santo or use a portable diffuser with citronella or peppermint oil to keep bugs away. These natural remedies are effective and safe for the whole family. Ideal for evenings in the garden, picnics or even camping.

Take cool showers or baths.
This is a great way to cool down on a hot day or just to refresh and reset. Add essential oils or use a scented shower gel to take your shower experience to the next level.
Get enough sleep.
When you're well-rested, you're better able to handle stress and enjoy the summer season. Infuse your sleep space with a fragrance that contains relaxing scent notes, such as lavender, jasmine, or chamomile. Use a diffuser so that you can fall asleep without the worry of blowing out a candle.
Try spritzing your pillows with our Super Blend Sleep pillow mist, lie back, inhale calm and exhale stress.
